Applied Wayfinding is a hive for creatives who have an eye for design, who think strategically, and who want to be involved in projects from inception to implementation. An Applied Internship is a great opportunity for you to develop your talents and gain valuable experience at a world-class wayfinding company.

We value our interns – the skills, enthusiasm, insight and perspective that they bring – and a successful applicant would join a long list of interns who have built successful wayfinding careers at Applied and in the wider wayfinding community.

Although you’d be based in London, your projects could be located anywhere in the world, in any one of 16 time zones, in cities, districts, transport networks, airports, campuses, complexes, open spaces and buildings, for some of the biggest and smallest companies in the world.

About you

There is no single path into wayfinding. You might be studying or have qualifications in urban planning, product/industrial design, information design, transport planning, urban design, engineering, graphic design, architecture, UX/UI design, or service design.

You have an interest in how people are influenced through the design of the world around them, what influences their route choice, and how they navigate.

You are comfortable using Mac products and have experience with Adobe Creative Suite, office suites such as Google or Microsoft Office, and software relating to your discipline, for example Illustrator, CAD, 3D modelling software.

You have a keen graphic eye and attention to detail, a desire and dedication to deliver high quality.

The duration

3 months, with potential for extension or a redefined role by mutual agreement.

Place of work

22 Stukeley Street, London. Between Holborn and Covent Garden.

Compensation

You will be paid an allowance to cover your travel and subsistence expenses.
